You’ll probably notice that even before the blood-soaked-fun of that time of the month begins, your body will go through some… reactions.
This was something I hadn’t been expecting; I just thought that the cramps and other things would come about once your period had actually begun.
Now I know that I was so very, very wrong! It’s almost like your uterus wants to give you a little warning, letting you know that Shark Week is approaching. If only the warnings were a little clearer and a little less unpleasant.
It varies for each person, but I find that I get very grumpy or emotional on the day right before the horror hits. Sometimes when this happens, it clicks and I realise that there is a reason behind my urge to place a curse on all who cross me, and then I know what to expect from the following day (pad in purse time).
Other times, though; I just get upset over whatever it is that I’m upset about, and I think nothing of it. When the next day arrives though, it’s a relief to understand that my actions weren’t the result of a demonic possession.
There was even a recent time when I got a stomach ache and had to use the bathroom many times. I thought maybe it was something I had eaten; my dinner maybe… I didn’t feel too well, so I went to bed early to rest.
It was really uncomfortable.
When I woke up the next morning to discover my sheets had turned into the Japanese flag, it made sense and I had a new early warning sign to add to the list. I think it’s good to get used to these kind of things, and to recognise them, because then you are prepared for what’s to come.
